In our second Digital Wall of Fame instalment, we’d like to introduce you to our super-organised Operations Director, Stephen Hemsley. Who we literally couldn’t live without. We had the opportunity to sit down with Stephen and ask him questions about himself, his work at Acrospire, and what inspires him.
Tell us about yourself.
Hi, I’m Stephen, in my role as Operations Director at Acrospire I am responsible for managing the factory, including production engineering, facilities management, quality management and health and safety.
What do you think is the best thing about Acrospire? What do youenjoy most about your role?
It’s a rare and wonderful thing to find a group of colleagues who would do anything for each other, and I count myself lucky to have found that here at Acrospire.
Who or what inspires you the most these days? Why?
We’ve made it our mission to create a product that not only meets but exceeds the standards we’ve encountered throughout our careers. Seeing our market share grow as a result is a source of great pride for all of us.
What’s your favourite film, and why?
“Zulu” is a cinematic masterpiece that captures the intensity and heroism of a real-life event. The cast is superb, the action is non-stop, and the script is full of iconic lines that stay with you long after the credits roll.

Our story
The idea for Acrospire was formed in 2012 when founder Tim envisioned a different kind of lighting manufacturer: one that would not only deliver outstanding customer experiences but also prioritise fair treatment for its employees.
We’ve come a long way
Motivated by the belief the industry wanted and needed better, Tim shared his plan to establish his own venture with Hatty, who simply couldn't let him do it alone.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Protecting local jobs and ensuring the best quality possible.
Working from a rented office by day and assembling lanterns in a garage at night, Tim and Hatty set to work.
11 Years later
Acrospire now inhabits a 14000² ft manufacturing facility in Basingstoke, Hampshire. We’re a proud partner of the Made in Britain scheme, ISO9001 certified and a member of all relevant lighting industry trade bodies.
Along with great relationships with our customers and a great team! We've attracted some of the most experienced members of the lighting industry, all by following one golden rule.
